Bistro Locale is located above the bar of the same name in the Vladimirsky passage. The interior is bold and experimental: there is an open kitchen, large communal tables with mosaics, mirrored walls with beer taps, and many live plants.
The menu is the work of Creative Chef Ilya Burnasov. The starters include dorada crudo with citrus and fennel, vitello tonnato, baked pumpkin with parma and ricotta, and battered olives with yogurt which are perfect with beer. The must try in Locale is fresh burrata (250 rubles) which can be sided with colorful tomato carpaccio.
Locale’s menu also offers unconventional pastas: orecchiette with olives and cherry tomatoes, caramelle with veal and gnocchi with crab. An alternative to pizza is warm ciabatta with traditional Italian fillings — “Four cheeses”, “Prosciutto Fungi”, etc. There are also a few main meat and seafood dishes in the menu.
The Locale bar offers 10 sorts of draft beer from different countries, the largest selection of cocktails on tap in the city, 13 kinds of wine at affordable prices from 1,300 to 2,500 rubles per bottle (each available by the glass and in jugs).
